The B1 English Test (GESE Grade 5) is required for Indefinite Leave to Remain (ILR) in the UK and British Citizenship (Naturalisation). It assesses your ability to communicate in English.

The test lasts for 10 minutes and is divided into two phases: Topic Phase (5 minutes) and Conversation Phase (5 minutes).

You’ll need to prepare a main topic with subtopics for the Topic Phase and review common subjects like Festivals, Music, and Entertainment for the Conversation Phase.

The B1 test certificate is valid for 2 years. Be sure to take it before applying for your visa or citizenship.

Once enrolled, your tutor will guide you through the process of booking your test with Trinity College.

Yes, if needed, you can retake the test. We offer resit preparation courses to help you prepare efficiently.

The B1 test fee is £150, payable directly to Trinity College. Our training courses are separate, with prices starting at £100.
